I was blessed when Cat and Dave Gellar of Shoreline Estate Sales came into my life in September 2021. My late mother’s house in New London, CT needed to be emptied after it was sold under a tight deadline. I was in town for a brief time from California to arrange this, one of
many overwhelming tasks for me. Cat and Dave took charge, expertly assessing furniture, china, clothes, electronics, jewelry, artwork, books, tools and more—the collection of a family’s lifetime. They skillfully priced everything, organized like groups, brought in racks and display cases and made the house look like a store. They did everything with great joy and gusto.
Then they blasted out the sale dates via ads in local papers and to their numerous online sites and coterie of collectors. After a very successful weekend sale, Cat and Dave removed all remaining items from the house, making it ready for the Buyer to move right in. I had long since returned to California and didn’t have to worry about a thing! I cannot recommend Shoreline Estate Sales, expertly managed by Dave and Cat Gellar, highly enough. They were efficient, knowledgeable and tender while dealing with my beloved parents’ belongings, and answered my many questions with such good humor. My heart is full!

When an unanticipated relocation out West presented itself we quickly needed to purge and get our home ready for market. Mary Poola recommended Cat and Dave at SES and we are so grateful!

Cat and Dave were responsive from the first contact we made and came out right away to assess the situation and explain the process. They were meticulous in helping us comb through 28 years of belongings & getting those items that no longer served us displayed professionally in our home for sale.

They sold larger items online before the actual sale began and meticulously priced every item we had for sale. They also did an amazing job helping us to keep “safe areas” where we could house items we didn’t want to sell.

The sale was professionally marketed yielding a great turnout & they had extra professionals on hand during the sale to help with safety and traffic flow and ensure shoppers stayed out of our private areas.

At the end of the sale what didn’t sell was donated to the homeless and Goodwill. Things that no longer functioned and couldn’t be donated went into the dumpster. Our home is now empty of the things we no longer need and it didn’t cost us any money—in fact we walked away with a nice check.

It would’ve taken us months to do what they accomplished in just outside of a week.

I recently found myself in the daunting position of having to clean out my mother's Groton condo to be listed for sale. There was a tremendous amount of furniture and household items that needed to go and the condo association would not allow a traditional estate-tag sale. We were completely overwhelmed by the magnitude of settling the estate. But Cat, and her husband Dave, came in, put us at ease and took care of virtually everything for us and with careful concern for saving and protecting the heirlooms that were so important to us.
Cat organized the packed house, sheds and barn to ready them for the sale and in our case this was a monumental number of items. She promptly provided a very successful sale ending with a house clean and ready for the Realtor.
This led to another very important consideration. Because Cat enabled us to turn the property over to the Realtor quickly it saves us taxes, utilities, insurance and maintenance expenses that we would have incurred had Cat not been involved.

When my brother stated that he had hired shoreline estate sales I was curious so I showed up and Cat was quite busy working away in the house getting everything organized and spread out for viewing which was difficult because of the sheer volume of items. The house is empty at this point and all trash in a dumpster. I had not expected much other than to empty the house but Cat got pretty good prices for the items she sold, and certainly more than I could have.
