Comments regarding experience with J Levine Auction & Appraisal LLC I was referred to Josh Levine by friends that had a positive experience using his services. My project was cleaning up my mother's home, and she was a hoarder. I called Josh and one other company to compare services. The first company offered to clean out the home 100% and give me $2000. I next called Josh and he offered a low commission rate and would get most of the house cleaned out and leave most of furniture, allowing sale of a furnished home. He said he could gross about $25,000. I accepted the offer and he grossed $67,000. I was very pleased. I have never met anyone with Josh's knowledge of antiques. It extended from military items to art to ceramics to silver to knives to documents, and on and on. I regret I did not call him prior to taking several car loads of items to Good Will. A turkey platter that I had carved on for 20 years and my Dad before that turned out to be manufactured by a company that made it worth about $300 and it was in my pile to go to Good Will. A candelabra set that was the ugliest looking that I have ever seen sold for over $1000, and I was thinking of giving it away also. Josh's staff has been most professional and friendly. The crew that came to the house took excellent care to not damage either the items they took or the home and items that were left. They brought all the necessary packing materials and vehicles for the job in one trip. The auction was conducted soon after pickup and cataloging. Payment was sent very quickly after the auction was conducted and payment received. All sale items were itemized with the proceeds and net value to me. There were no questions regarding accuracy, ethics, or conduct. As I have come across items missed in the original collection, they have provided professional appraisals and recommendations, whether I left it with them for auction or kept the item. Bottom line, I unconditionally recommend Josh Levine Auction & Appraisal LLC to handle estates and sale of any items someone is not able or qualified to sell themselves. We contracted J Levine to handle an estate of fine arts, jewelry and coins. We found Josh to be not only personable but very knowledgeable of the pieces we had. He and his crew came to the house and packed crate after crate with great care and efficiency. They split the items into several auctions and were in touch with us throughout. We found the experience to be without stress and generally very pleasant. We received our proceeds promptly and without problems.
